The Blueair 601 air purifier is a large machine but it covers a large area.  The HEPA type air filter effectively filters the air in room sizes up to 679 square feet and completely circulates and filters all of the air in the entire room up to six times per hour.

The Blueair 601 has three operating speeds and uses patented HEPASilent filter technology to trap airborne particulates in two ways, with mechanical and electrostatic filters.  Air is drawn in from the bottom and the sides of the machine and is then moved through the filter media which contains millions of ultrathin fibers that trap tiny particles as the air passes through.

The filter media is made of a nontoxic polypropylene material that works without outgassing or releasing microscopic fibers into the air.  It is also a waterproof material that resists contamination from bacteria, viruses, and mold.  Replacing the filters is easy and when you dispose of the old filters they decompose and are converted into carbon dioxide and water.

The Blueair 601 is a highly efficient air filter that only uses 35 watts on its lowest setting and 120 watts on the high setting.  Operating this air purifier takes no more electricity than operating a single lightbulb.  It is a quiet, efficient, easy-to-use air purifier backed by a 10 year warranty.

The Blueair 601 air purifier passed laboratory tests conducted by Consumer Reports with flying colors being rated “Excellent” for both smoke and dust removal.  People with allergies and asthma report that their symptoms have been kept to a minimum because of this high-quality air filter.  One reviewer called their apartment a safe haven during high pollen days and reported that any allergy symptoms go away within 30 minutes when they use this machine.  Many people call this machine quiet and reliable.  It’s also easy to clean and replace the filters and although it is a large machine it has four wheels to make it easier to move from one room to another.  One reviewer reported that on the highest setting the Blueair 601 does such a good job of removing dust from the air that they no longer have to dust three times a week and that they now only dust their master bedroom twice a month.

This machine is not cheap but it is very effective and there are a lot of very positive reviews.  It’s so effective at removing allergens from the air that many people credit it with allowing them to sleep at night.  One of the only negative reviews that we could find for this product was from someone that bought the optional Smokestop filters.  This person stated that although the optional Smokestop filter decreased residual smoke odors from their downstairs neighbors, the Smokestop filter itself gave off an unpleasant odor.

Overall, the Blueair 601 air purifier received extraordinarily positive reviews from the vast majority of people that have used it.  This is an expensive machine but it’s very good at what it does and if you are looking for an efficient, high quality air purifier the Blueair 601 is a great choice.
